4 - Parental Control & Participation
We strongly recommend that our younger users, aged 14 – 16 ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the internet and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe internet use practices.

5 - Mentoring
WYGU is designed to let the people who truly understand and have experienced a course, college or profession to help, guide or mentor those who have a desire to pursue a similar path or goal. Mentoring is seen as either a long-term or transient role and useful for both long-term support or events or moments in time. Therefore, the term 'Mentor' does not imply any specific skill, training or qualification, only that people have elected to help and give some time to support other users through imparting knowledge, experience or personal opinion.

Our mentoring programme allows for feedback in the form of PSR points. These points are awarded by the mentee at their own discretion and reflect the value they feel they have gained from an interaction with their mentor through WYGU. A higher PSR rating indicates a more active and dependable mentor.

All communications between a mentor and a mentee are confidential and are held on our servers for a period of six months, as outlined in section 2.

For more information about mentoring, see our mentoring guide
